Edible Finger Paint

Painting created by a few of my patients with Autism and Cerebral Palsy.
This paint is perfect for those patients or kids that have trouble keeping their fingers out of their mouth when painting.  It is also a great sensory activity. I did this activity with patients with a wide variety of functional levels, and they all loved it!

Ingredients:
1/4-1/2 cup light corn syrup (depending on how much paint you want)
1 teaspoon water
4-5 drops  of food coloring

Mix all ingredients.  I pour it onto a paper plate flat surface so the kids can get it all over their hands.  Then, let them go crazy! Make sure to do this activity in an area that is easily cleaned because it will get sticky!! Allow to dry for 1-2 hours.

The paint dries very shiny.  I recommend spraying any pieces that you want to keep with a glossy acrylic to seal it.  Please do not let anyone lick or eat the paint after spraying with the acrylic. :)
